Pianist and songwriter Freddy Gillmore is due an exciting year, building on the buzz of 2023 which saw him land Arts Council funding, a BBC interview, and three Manchester headline shows.

Combining his piano ballads with the rockier edge of his band, Freddy creates a distinctly 70's brand of alternative music. His sound, much like his visual identity, exists in a dark and cinematic world; perhaps why he hails the likes of Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse as key influences.

Since assembling a backing band and gigging around Manchester, Freddy has quickly developed a local buzz, playing three headline shows at the ‘Deaf Institute’ (2/2/23), ‘Night & Day’ (15/11/23) and AATMA (25/10/23).

After his tracks were broadcasted 11 times on BBC introducing, Freddy was contacted by South West representative Fran Anderson to undertake an interview. This was broadcast on BBC Devon in November 2023.

Freddy's project was recognised by the Arts Council through their Youth Music organisation, and he was awarded their 'Next-Gen' fund in late 2023, boosting the profile of the project and paying for the recording of tracks with producer Toby Ollis-Brownstone (Bonnie Kemplay, Sophia Veraz).
